As requested by many site visitors, this is a section devoted to those adventurous people who are building a New breed of motorcaravan which is not frightened by the sight of a fast flowing river or a vast expanse of inhospitable territory.
In fact these vehicles just say 'bring it on'... ' lets have some of that' ... or similar things in other languages. Keep checking back for more campers with attitude.

Harry has a unique motor caravan in the Netherlands. This is really not an offroad vehicle as it is based on a Magirus Deutz 120R80 bus chassis. A stylish superstructure has been fitted to very high standard. The original F6L913 120 HP engine has been replaced with the more powerful Turbo charged BF6L913 as used on the 16 tonner in the UK. I would think it goes very well. The chassis dates back to 1978, Harry bought the camper in 2009 and it is regularly used. |

Dara Sugrue an Irishman living in Czechoslovakia, is the proud owner of this ex German Railway vehicle. It is a late model Magirus 120-16. He has converted it to Super-Single wheel operation in readiness for a planned trip to start later this year. They will probably come in useful as the plans are for a circumnavigation of Africa via Morocco, CapeTown, Egypt and back to Czechoslovakia. I hope to bring you updates on this project as and when they are available. |
