August 6 2011 This spectacular model is a result of international co-operation, between myself and the truly remarkable engineering and modelling skills of Brian in New Zealand. Just over a year ago Brian contacted me saying he was planning to add to his model collection by making a 1/5 scale model of a particular truck he had seen on my website, in the article from February 2008 Truck and Driver magazine. >HERE< Brian asked if I was able to help and I sent him scanned copies of an old blueprint drawing, together with many other pictures. I researched the colour scheme for him , and this is the result !! Click on ALL Pics to enlarge and then the + magnifier ! When I saw the first picture ( the one to the right ) my first thoughts were... 'Where has he got that picture from ?' as I honestly thought it was a real truck. I then look at the others and was genuinely stunned by the incredible attention to detail. Even more amazed when I found out that it RUNS !! It is a Radio Controlled model !! Heres some spec :- Scale 1:5 The cab was built from 2mm thick mild steel plate - welded construction . Power is by an 18v, 22 pole electric motor driving through gearing. Steering and forward and reverse is controlled by a 2 channel radio control set-up. The trailer is also by Brian and was built for another of his models, A Bedford TM. Thats about all I have at the moment. I am looking forward to the possibility of a Video of the Maggie in operation in the future ? Many congratulations Brian on your wonderful model, and thank you to Gina for assisting in communications. I am proud to associated with such a piece of Art. Regards Roland
